A Christmas cat, a designer dress, a gingerbread village and an international guest helped get the holidays off to a distinctive start at The Jefferson Hotel official tree-lighting ceremony Monday. The cat, Mango, was the first feline mascot for the Richmond SPCA. Owners Ted and Mary Linhart somehow got her to look agreeable in a sparkly red coat and hood as they walked down the grand staircase in the hotel lobby in a procession of local Christmas luminaries.
