On Thanksgiving in downtown Richmond, Julie Kuykendall served as the maître d' of what – at least for the day – was the biggest restaurant in the city. Upwards of 3,000 residents from around the region filled the Richmond Convention Center to eat a free Thanksgiving dinner. Many were homeless, many were without families to share the day with.
